WABO 2025 Fall Business Meeting

Earthquake Home Retrofit Seminar

Registration for the Earthquake Home retrofit Seminar is now available!  WABO will once again sponsor this important professional training program for builders and contractors.  Earthquake Home Retrofit Training provides a consistent, approved approach to the seismic retrofit of older, wood-frame, single-family homes that conforms to the prescriptive Project Impact Plan Set application limitations. If you know any contractors who might be interested in attending, please pass on the information.

Check Your ICC Membership Status to Ensure Eligibility for 2026 Code Hearings

To be eligible to vote at Group A and B Public Comment Hearings (PCH) or the Online Governmental Consensus Vote (OGCV) in 2026, an ICC Governmental Membership must be current as of Oct. 21, 2025. If the membership expires before Oct. 21, 2025, it must be renewed by Oct. 21 to be eligible to vote in the 2026 PCH or OGCV.

Do You Know Someone Who Deserves A WABO Award?

The Washington Association of Building Officials are seeking nominations for individuals deserving special recognition through our prestigious Awards Program.  Submitting an award nomination is a great way to acknowledge individuals, chapters or organizations who have distinguished themselves in service to the Association and/or Profession.  Recommendations must be received by Monday, March 16, 2026 to be considered.  The awards will be announced and presented on April 16, 2026 during the WABO Annual Awards Banquet at the 2026 Annul Business Meeting.

WABO 2026 Winter Committee Meeting

Registration for the 2026 WABO Winter Committee Meeting is now available.  The 2026 meeting will be held virtually on January 29, 2026, via Zoom.  We are once again planning to visit legislators 'virtually' this year during the week of February 2 - February 6, 2026 to request their support for WABO issues.  If you are interested in attending the virtual legislator meetings, please make sure to answer 'yes' on the registration form when prompted and the appropriate questions will populate and we will gather the necessary information needed for Marian Dacca to schedule your meeting with your representative(s).
