2012 WABO Outstanding Education Achievement

Paul Ilg, ICC Rainier Chapter, City of Tumwater

This award is to honor an ICC Chapter and its leader in educating building code professionals and recognizes a member who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment, effort, and achievement in promoting high standards of professionalism.  Paul Ilg is the current chapter president of the Rainier Chapter and is a senior building safety inspector for the City of Tumwater. Paul has also been volunteering his time to the mission of organizing the six northwest states into a new ICC Region II.

2012 WABO Building Official of the Year

Tim Devries, CBO, ACO
, Skagit County

It was an honor to present this year’s Building Official of the Year award to Tim DeVries, Skagit County. Tim served for many years as WABO committee chair, as well as Second Vice President and he has devoted many years to making our organization a successful association. Tim is always cheerful and offers a helping hand to everyone he meets. He will be retiring this year from Skagit County and spending time filling up his bucket list.


2012 WABO Jurisdictional Outreach Award

Mitch Nickolds, City of Pasco

Mitch was unable to attend the meeting, but he has worked tirelessly to bring training sessions to the eastern part of Washington. He saw a need for more local training opportunities to the Tri-Cities area in order to help his colleagues keep up with their ICC CEUs and save the jurisdictions money on time and travel. He will receive his award at the Fall Meeting in Spokane.

 

2012 WABO Associate Member of the Year

Phil Brazil, PE, SE, Reid Middleton

For many years, he has been a dedicated participant in the technical code side of our business, both at WABO meetings and ICC Code hearings.  Phil will be retiring this year from his many years of service. He was not at the meeting to receive his award.
