Q: How much does it cost to renew my welder card(s)?

A.      $50.00 (must be postmarked before expiration date).  This includes all current certifications. We now accept credit cards.

Q. When is a card(s) considered late, and how much is the late fee?

A.    The annual renewal dates are October 1, January 1, April 1 and July 1 of each year.  If a card is postmarked or received after the first day of these months, there is a $20.00 late fee.

Q.  How can I replace a lost, stolen or destroyed card?

A.    Send WABO a written statement (email is ok) stating how the card was lost.  If it has not expired, we will issue you a replacement card for $20.00. If it has expired, you will need to also send in a signed signature form.

Q.    Who can sign my signature form?

A.    In order to keep your card current, you must obtain at a signature by your employer, a general contractor or a WABO certified welding examiner. The signature form must accompany your card for renewal.
 

Q.    How do I reinstate an expired card?

A.    You have sixty days (2 months) after your card's expiration date in which to reinstate an expired card, as long as you have a signature of your employer within the required time frame.  If it past the 60-day grace period, you will have to retest.

Q.    How do I submit for a new or additional Certification?

A.    Mail or bring in your test in a sealed envelope to the WABO office. We  do not accept faxed copies.

Q.    Where can I retest?

A.    You can locate a welder testing agency listed on this website.

A.  Please submit a change in your mailing address in writing to the WABO office. Courtesy reminders for renewal are sent the address we have on file 45 days prior to expiration. However, you are responsible for renewing before the expiration date regardless whether you received a notice or not.

Q.    Can I get a copy of my welding test?

A.    You will not receive a copy of your own test. However, an employer can mail in a request along with $5.00 for each qualification test record.  This information will not be faxed.  For details call the WABO office at 360-628-8669.
