Step By Step Instructions On How To Access Canvas

NEW STUDENTS:

Once we receive your registration and payment you will be enrolled in your first Canvas course COAP 098 - New Student Orientation. You will receive an email invitation to participate and log in one week prior to class beginning. This class is required and must be completed prior to the start of your first class. As this will be your first class in the portal you will need to register as a new user (First time only). You will not be able to use any former login and password from prior educational institutions if you have used Canvas before. The email invitation will look similar to this:

You've been invited to participate in a class at canvas.instructure.com. The class is called COAP 098 - New Student Orientation.

You'll need to register with Canvas before you can participate in the class.

Please click on the "Get Started" button and follow the prompts to accept and create your password. Once you accept you will be able to login and have access to the classes assigned. The first class you should see on the Dashboard is New Student Orientation - COAP 098. If you are having issues logging into Canvas or questions about class schedule feel free to call Melissa at the WABO office.

RETURNING STUDENTS:

Once we receive your registration and payment you will be enrolled in your Canvas course. You will receive an email invitation to participate and log in the Friday prior to class beginning. You MUST accept the invitation through the email and not through your portal as access to the course will not appear properly. The email invitation will look similar to this:

Use the login and password you created prior there is no need to reestablish a new account. Please note the New Student Orientation - COAP 098 is still on your Dashboard. The New Student Orientation is not required for returning students, but is a helpful tool for you to reference. If you are having issues logging into Canvas or questions about class schedule feel free to call Melissa at the WABO office.

CLASS WITHDRAWAL POLICY:

Students may withdraw from class at any time during the quarter and receive no credit. Withdrawal notice must be submitted in writing to the WABO office. Without written notice the student continues to be enrolled in class, attendance and course work will be expected. Once proper notification is given, the student will be removed from the roster. Students working towards certificates of completion and accreditations will need to re-register and complete class when offered next. Student may be eligible for all or partial refund of fees (See Class Refund Policy) and will not be eligible for scholarship reimbursement for the class.

CLASS REFUND POLICY:

Day 1 - 7: 100% Refund, Day 8 - 14: 75% Refund, Day 15 - 21: 50% Refund, Day 22 - 28: 25% Refund, Day 29+: NO REFUND
